Team Extreme

We've had our first team training where we learned a little bit more about our trip. Most, but not all were present (3 were on the Japan mission trip). This trip is considered a broad seed sowing trip, which means that we will be spreading Bibles, tracts, and the Jesus film in the Hindi language to people who have never heard the name of Jesus before. We will have four days for travel and five days in the mountains. The group will be divided into four groups. Each day, three groups will hike down the mountain in different directions and then begin working our way back up as we stop and visit the different homes and villages we encounter. The fourth group will be prayer walking the main road. We will pass on the information we learn to the missionaries, who can then follow up with those who are interested and open to hearing more.

So many of you have told me that you have been praying for our trip, and I can't adequately express my appreciation of this. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a request that has been burning on my heart and mind the past few weeks. Please pray that every Bible, tract, movie will be read/watched. There is wonderful power in God's Word, but for it to change hearts and people's eternities, it must first be heard/read. I think of all the books that sit on bookshelves that are never opened and movies that are never watched. I pray this will not be the case with the goods that we deliver. Please join me in prayer for this request.

I'd also like to ask you to lift up our team leaders, Bryan and Shaun. As a former team leader, I understand the huge responsibility and amount of work involved in making a trip happen. Here is a picture of them for those of you who have never met them.

Thank You, Pelhams!

The Pelhams, Kasey Jo's parents, have been very generous in offering our team a fundraising opportunity. They are paying the team to do some painting and landscaping at their house. We thought it was extremely generous of them to allow the entire team to benefit and not just their daughter and son-in-law! It was all girl power on the April 21st date, as only girl members of the team were able to come and participate. I was quite impressed with Kasey Jo using the power tool and Kristi braving the ladder!

Jeff's Trip to Japan

For some reason, we've been unable to access my old blog, so we decided I should just start over. If you'd like to see the first few posts, see http://jandmb.blogspot.com. I wanted to share some pictures from the Japan mission team that just returned on Tuesday. They worked in Tokyo using clowns and the English language as the bridge to share the message. Jeff, my husband, was part of that team and one of the clowns! He provided lots of laughs...particularly for the team (and his family as we looked at all the pictures!) Here are a few pictures from their trip.
